'Hasn't been easy' Martin Clunes on why it's 'good time' for Doc Martin to end

“Whereas it was an ongoing concern, it’s a worry. But it’s there now, done and I am proud of it, yeah. We’re very proud of it.

“People have loved it, which is all you can ask, really.”

Doc Martin has entertained audiences since 2004, with the Cornish backdrop an ideal setting for the antics of a village and a bad-tempered doctor.

It was announced recently though that the upcoming show would be the last, and fans are keen to know how the favourite characters of the series will bow out.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am
