On Sunday night, BBC viewers tuned in to watch Prince William’s environmental awards ceremony, which honours five environmental solutions with £1million each to further their work helping to restore and protect our planet. At the beginning of the show, Clara Amfo and Daniel Day Kim took to the stage to introduce the awards, before welcoming Chloe x Halle, who performed Feeling Good.
However, some viewers were left less than impressed by the opening and many took to social media to share their thoughts.
Andy Mullen fumed: “This #EarthShotPrize .. what’s the point of all this vocal gymnastic opening? Absolute c**p. It’s like fingernails down a blackboard Immediate switch off.” (sic)
“Had to turn the #BBC coverage of the #EarthShotPrize off immediately as a sister act launched into “Feeling Good” and murdered it with ease by overdoing things and completely losing the awesome feel of the classic song. Turned my blood cold,” user @Dark_Derek penned.
While Pippi tweeted: “No denying they are excellent singers but that song was not the right choice for their voices or style of singing.”
