Antonio Conte drops big hint he will sign new Tottenham contract amid Juventus rumours

Antonio Conte has already signalled his intent to commit his future to Tottenham. Speculation surrounded the end of the last season that the Italian was ready to quit the club if the opportunity was not right and as recently as this week he was linked with a move back to his former club Juventus.

However, despite a long history of staying at clubs for just a couple of seasons, Conte has already told the club’s chairman and managing director of football he feels more at home at Tottenham. “The most important thing for me is that I’m really enjoying working with Tottenham, with these players, especially, and the relationship with Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici is good,” he said.

“I’m okay, and I think the club is happy about this situation.” Conte signed for 18 months when he joined the club in November 2021, with the club able to exercise a one-year extension at the end of this season.

The 53-year-old says it is not about the contract – but will sit down for talks between now and the end of the season – wherever it is appropriate. “If the club and the manager want to work together they will continue to work together,” he said. “If they don’t want to work together they finish.

“Otherwise I don’t see a problem. I don’t see another situation. I think at the right time I will take the best decision. At this moment, I’m really happy.” Furthermore, he labelled people “disrespectful” for linking him with replacing the under-fire Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus,

He said: “It’s incredible that in this period, this is disrespectful for the coach that works in Juventus. And disrespectful for me working for Tottenham. We have just started the season. Many times I spoke about this topic and always say I’m enjoying my time with Tottenham.”

But at the same time, it is a timely reminder for Tottenham that their manager remains hot property. “For the club, it’s a good investment to have a coach like me and my staff,” Conte said.
